Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy
JOB TASK ANALYSIS PROJECT

Thank you for logging on to complete this important questionnaire and for your daily efforts to keep Wyoming families safe. Being a Wyoming peace officer is a most challenging profession, and your work is both recognized and appreciated.

To be sure that peace officer entry-level training is current, effective and legally defensible, a formal Job Task Analysis is required. As part of our continuing commitment to the training of Wyoming law enforcement personnel, the responses you provide will help us develop new and/or validate current basic training and ensure that the Academy’s basic and in-service programs prepare new and serving peace officers to perform the tasks awaiting them in the field.

The questionnaires that follow ask officers whether and how often they perform a particular task, if at all.  Supervisors will identify the tasks they expect their officers to perform and evaluate those tasks in terms of both criticality and when they should be taught. Those responses will help determine when a topic is covered; basic, advanced or on-the-job training.

The entire questionnaire should take no longer than 1-2 hours to complete. For your convenience, you can enter and exit the site as needed to allow you to perform your duties around completing the survey. Your last completed page will be saved so you can pick up right where you left off each time.

You may begin by clicking the "Continue" button below. Please take the time to answer candidly and completely, as your input and that of several hundred other officers and supervisors will play a direct role in developing the requirements for basic and advanced training programs at the WLEA for years to come.

Thank you.
